Pushing Boundaries in Biomechanics

The Theoretical and Computational Biomechanics Research Group at the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma is part of the Department of Engineering. Our aim is to integrate knowledge and advance scientific research by using cutting edge methods that merge innovative theoretical formulations and advanced computational approaches. We work on multiple biomechanical problems addressed via experiment-based modeling and simulation:

Gastrointestinal motility

cardiac electromechanics

Constitutive modeling of fiber-reinforced soft tissues

Radiofrequency and laser ablation

Bioresorbable bone devices

biomechanical device design and optimization

Our Key Projects in Biomechanics

Projects Highlights

In silico trial of skin thermal profile for pulse wave stratification: A multiphysics and machine-learning approach

Virtual twin of the gastrointestinal tract

Prototypization and optimization of biomechanical device production for therapeutic treatment of skin lesion
